Together with Marriott, ASFONA's primary goal has been to ensure that during the integration of Starwood's Brands in to the Marriott portfolio that the Starwood Legacy brands would continue to be positioned as leaders in the industry and that that they deliver the highest possible customer satisfaction levels and also the desired return on investment to their owners.
The counsel and input commitment of the ASFONA Board to Marriott during 2017 & 2018 has been highly satisfactorily executed. During this time the priority of ASFONA has been to ensure that the obligations to ASFONA's own membership constituents were also met and would continue to be met going forward.
To be incorporated in the Mission/Goals from 2019 going forward is the implementation of an informal communications conduit designed to maintain the "Owner/Operator input to Marriott regarding relevant business issues pertaining to all brands but, specifically the Goal in the short term being the focus on matters relating to the "Starwood Legacy Brands" and their continued success.
Also, to be incorporated into the Mission is the commitment of ASFONA to be active and provide all the support required to those organizations seeking both Federal & State "Destination Marketing" funding through the development of a communications channel designed to engage with elected officials.
ASFONA's evolving Mission is the implementation of the "Diversification Strategy" resulting in a new "Mission Statement" being developed and to be published for the Fall 2019 meeting.
